REELRADIO AIRCHECK REPOSITORY This is a great audio database of vintage radio
from the 50's on up...primarily focusing on american radio..if you have a
hankering for "real" radio..when they had people, and not just computers after 6
pm, well, this is the place..beats listening to "Time and Temp" jocks who are
usually "voice tracked" (IE their voice speaking parts are recorded into the
computer ahead of time..then the computer plays them at the time scheduled like
the music..and you have what sounds like it's live, when it isn't!). Anyways,
make sure you check out the "Orson Welles Voiceover Session" as Orson, one of
the great radio actors of the early days of radio, and maker of the masterpiece
film "Citizen Kane" is reduced to getting pissed about the right way to say a
sponsor's product...as apparently it's not "proper english"..well, that never
stopped a production of a commerical before now did it..hahahaha...great
material!!!!
MEDIA NETWORKSpecializing on media related topics globally, with a special affection to shortwave. Initially a weekly radio show, it has now evolved into a weekly newsletter and web site. with archives of some of the last radio shows. a great place to start to give you a insight into radio on a global scale
JINGLE WEB Jingle Web, is the home page of the society of radio jingles and tunes in Holland, dedicated to collecting and preserving radio jingles from radio stations all over the world. I myself have contributed to this collection, and is a valuable resource for radio jingle history. the web site is a valuable resource for collectors of jingles which seem to be global in nature. if you are curious about those people who makes money "singing" radio station call letters between the records, who actually does this, this is the place to go.
KRUD RADIO A great site...parody of a radio station! if your a listener, and want
to know what's going on behind the scenes, that's the place to go! it's
delightfully sarcastic!
CANADIAN RADIO STATIONS ON THE NET Well, gotta promote our "HOME AND NATIVE LAND"
sometime! it's ironic that this is a american list, of canadian radio stations
but whatever gets the job done I suppose. hopefully, you'll realize canadian
radio isn't all Celine Dion, or Gordon Lightfoot back to back....we have Anne
Murray (of Snowbird fame!)
