other links graphic

here's some useful links for audio players off of winsite, a shareware/freeware site devoted to windows (my apologies to those with MACS...if there is a similar all in one site, please drop me a line on this, as I have yet to find one!!) Anyways...these three links off of Winsite are devoted to Mpeg Audio Players and encoders, in addition to Wav Editors, and a pile of other stuff dealing with audio on your computer...so...

WINDOWS 95 MPEG AUDIO PLAYERS AND EDITORS

WINDOWS 95 MULTI PURPOSE PLAYERS..etc

WINDOWS 95 WAV RECORDERS/ EDITORS

just a note too, that for WINDOWS 3.1, I have yet to find much, but give me time..if you want to look for yourself, here's a link to the winfiles homesite, which has numerous things on windows 3.1, though I cannot say yet what audio editors are available

WINSITE.COM

MAC AUDIO UTILITIES LINKS

This is a site I just found...off of one of the Tucows shareware/freeware sites. This site includes mp3 encoders, and audio players/editors, in addition to file conversion utilities....I HATE to leave those people with MAC's out...sorry it took so long, but better late than never....enjoy!!!

music machine logoHere's likely THE BEST site on the net for downloading audio/music applications that are shareware and freeware...for virtually EVERY operating system that you can put in a home PC....The Shareware Music Machine is a great place to drop by.

MP4 INFO

MP4??? is there such a thing....sorta. Mp4, is officially being called Mpeg 2-AAC from what I understand, and with the hoopla created by mp3 and internet music in general, the folks who own the rights to the new format are not going to make the same mistakes as they did with mp3, and are not letting the format be too widely released as of this writing (june 2001). regardless, here's a few sites I found on the subject.

MPEG-2 Advanced Audio Coding: Data Compression for the 21st Century

AAC? Is it really better than MP3?

AAC Audio.com

Mayah Communications Mayah, in addition to hardware and authoring software dealing with mp2 and mp3 playing and editing has now available a realtime Mpeg2-AAC recorder wich is software based and available as a shareware downloadable demo. the quality is very impressive to my ears.
